SUMMARY:Canada Day - Bingo and BBQ
DESCRIPTION:Every year the Knights have a Bingo and a Food Tent. Last year (2024) was an exception where there was no Bingo. We had so much feedback from people who missed the Bingo\, so we held it this year. \nWe had 31 Knights helping out at the Bingo or the Food Tent. \nWe also had 15 helpers – some were Spouses or other Parishioners from St Peter’s Parish. \nFor the Bingo this year\, we partnered with Quinte Transit\, and they provided 7 helpers. \nAltogether we had 53 hands on board\, and they accounted for 583 hours of donated time. \nAt the Bingo we netted about $3000.00\, and $3500.00 from the Food Tent. \n KNIGHTS\nPATRICK GOODMURPHY\nPETER VANDERLAAK\nSTEPHEN FOSTER\nGERMAIN LOIGNON\nDAVE OVERDULVE\nOWEN GRAHAM\nED LOMBARDI\nDAN GIMPEL – FIELD AGENT\nTONY KESTER – DD\nTOM CARTER\nAKOUNDA KOUDEMA\nMIKE SILVA\nGARY GILES\nMURRAY HAZELTON\nADRIAN BARNABAS\nDAVID CHOWN\nTED KORNBLUM\nJOHN LECLAIR\nJOHN BRYSON\nDEREK CARTER\nZIBBY ROLKA\nJOHN MURPHY\nGILLES LARRIVEE\nDR KOSHY\nBILL WALLACE\nBERT GARRETT\nELDON GARRETT\nBRUCE BELLEFEUILLE\nDON BABINEAU\nLEN BERTRAND\nDAVE COURNEYEA \nHELPERS – 15\nJIM DAMICO\nCHRIS GORRELL\nPAUL TAVARES\nYVONNE TAVARES- PETER’S DAUGHTER\nDEXTER AND RYKER TAVARES\nDEBBIE OVERDULVE\nJUDY LOIGNON\nBEV KORNBLUM\nCORRINE CARTER\nLISA GILES\nMARY CHOWN\nZITA DEVEAU\nCHRISTINE CALLAGHAN\nPAUL – at Food Tent \nQUINTE TRANSIT – 7\nSHELLY AKERS\nBRIANNA AKERS\nNAYDNE MATTIS\nANNMARIE BRICKMAN\nALANA MORRISON\nDAVE MORRISON\nDUSTIN BAKER \n

SUMMARY:Yard Sale
DESCRIPTION:This year the Council elected to hold their annual  Yard Sale in June\, from Friday June 20th to the final wrap up on Monday morning 23rd. \nThe event actually started on Thursday 19th\, when Knights arrived to set up the Tables and place them around the perimeter of the Church Parking Lot. \nAlso on the 19th as Knights were loading contents at Brother Peter Vanderlaak’s barn on Victoria Road in Carrying Place\, onto trailers. \nOn Friday morning (20th) the trailers arrived early\, and were unloaded\, and contents were placed onto tables\, sorted by type – electronic\, china and cutlery\, toys\, tools\, book\, Music LP’s and CD’s\, etc. \nThe people start arriving by 9am or 10am\, as contents may be still arriving from storage. \nThe Council had a BBQ set up and were providing Hot Dogs\, Sausages\, and Pop/Water. \nBy the end of the day\, there is not much left\, and remaining items are covered with tarps to protect them from the elements. \nA few stragglers will come out on Sunday morning and pick over the leftovers. The cleanup begins with the loading of leftovers. \nA final cleanup is undertaken on Monday morning (23rd). We collapse the Tables and store them away for the next time. A garbage run was made. \nOur June Yard Sale was another tremendous success. We raised just over $5300.00. \nThis will enable the Council to donate funds to our Charitable causes – TMHF\, Food Bank\, and so on. \nOver the course of the four days\, we had 77 Knights on hand helping out in various ways. This added up to 745 hours of donated time.
