SUMMARY:Keep Christ in Christmas
DESCRIPTION:This year our Council was able to hold the Keep Christ In Christmas Poster Contest with the three (3) Schools – St Mary\, St Peter’s\, and St Paul’s. \nThere was great participation at all three Schools. \nHere is the report from our Faith Director – Brother David Overdulve. \nKeep Christ In Christmas Poster Contest 2025 \nWorthy Grand Knight our KCIC poster contest was a success this year. I rolled out the program early in November at St. Mary Catholic School\, and St. Paul Secondary School. Brother Mike Silva\, assisted\, by heading up the program at St. Peter Catholic School.. The program was voluntary on the part of the students. We had over 100 entries from each of the three schools. \nJudging was difficult as all of the entries were very well done. I would like to thank the staff and principals of all three schools for supporting this program . A special thanks to the leads Cynthia Kelly at St. Mary\, Ana Dacosta at St. Paul and Mike Silva at St. Peter. \nThe winners: St. Mary’s Grade K-2 Zayn; Gr.3-4 Lily-Anne; Gr.5-6 Claire \nSt. Paul’s; Grade 7-8 Jude \nSt. Peter’s Gr. K-2 Paige; Gr.3-4 Laya; Gr. 5-6 Gabby \nI have posted the winners and some of the runners up from grade 7 & 8. \nThe certificates were presented to winners at St Mary and St. Paul on December 3\,2025. The certificates will be presented to the St. Peter’s winners after their advent service on Monday December 15\,2025. \nOur Council made a donation to each school of $100.00 for helping with this program. \nBetween Patrick\, Mike and myself we have about 20 hours of volunteer time. \nFaith Director. SUMMARY:Donation to Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation
DESCRIPTION:The Executive Director of the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation was invited to speak to our Council at our monthly Council meeting on Tuesday Dec 10th. \nBrother Frank Barry (our Lecturer) had suggested inviting Linday Butcher-Dodds to our Council meeting to update us on activities at the Hospital. \nA year or two back we had Lindsay’s predecessor – Wendy Warner\, into make a presentation. \nAlso Brother John McDonald made it known that there was need for to (2) Portable Heart Monitors. At a cost of $3000.00 each. A Motion had been put forth and approved for a donation in that amount. \nLindsay made a fine presentation\, and was overwhelmed when we presented her with a cheque for $6000.00. \nWe received a glowing letter of thanks from Linday on December 18th. \n \nFrank Barry\, Patrick Goodmurphy\, Lindsay Butcher-Dodds\, John McDonald \n  \n

SUMMARY:Donation to Trenton Lions Club
DESCRIPTION:As part of our Donation Budget\, and in recognition of the generosity of the Trenton Lions Club in extending to our Council\, the use of their Hall every month\, for our Council meetings. \nA motion was brought forth to Council and approved for a donation. \nIn discussions with Council\, it was suggested that the donation be in support of the Trenton Lions Club project for the building of an Inclusive Playground in Centennial Park in Trenton. \nOn December 11th\, Brothers Patrick Goodmurphy and David Overdulve presented Lions member – Michael Seymour (Project Manager) with a cheque for $2000.00 \nA sincere letter of thanks followed from Michael Seymour.

SUMMARY:Helping Hands: Turkeys & Hams to Widows
DESCRIPTION:Every year\, for the past 25 years\, our Brother Frank Barry has organized this event. \nIt involves the pre-ordering of Turkeys\, and Hams\, and Cookies. \nBrother Frank has a Team of Brother Knights\, who go out in pairs to visit the Widows in the surrounding community. \nThe Council covers the cost of the items. This year the items were provided by Smylie’s Independent Grocers. \nA total of eleven (11) Brother Knights were on hand to deliver the much appreciated items. \nThanks to following Brothers who donated their time. \nFrank Barry \nGilles Larrivve \nTom Carter \nTom Painter \nDon Manders \nGermain Loignon \nAdrien Lemieux \nJohn Bryson \nEd Lombardi \nClaude Cote \nTerry Whalen \n  \nBrother Frank Barry is stepping down after this year’s event\, and Brother Adrien Lemieux has volunteered to take over the program.

SUMMARY:Meet and Greet - Dec 2025
DESCRIPTION:After the 9am Mass on Sunday Dec 14th\, the Knights of Columbus Council 2438\, hosted a Meet and Greet in the downstairs room of the Parish Centre. \nCoffee and snacks are provided. \nThe purpose of the event is to get parishioners to take a few minutes and share fellowship\, and an opportunity for the men of the Parish (who are not Knights) to learn about the Knights. \nAt this event we had seven (7) Brother Knights on hand to talk about the Order.

SUMMARY:Consecration to the Holy Family
DESCRIPTION:At the Saturday Dec 27th 5pm Mass\, and at both the 9am and 11am Masses on Sunday Dec 28th \, there was a Celebration to the Holy Family\, at St Peter’s Catholic Church. \nAnnouncement of the event was placed in the Church Bulletin in advance. \nPrior to the start of Mass\, Prayer Cards had been placed in the pews. \nParishioners participated in reciting the Prayer\, and Father Timothy Harrison provided a special Homily. \nThe event benefitted the students and parents of our three (3) Catholic Schools\, through the preparatory work at the Schools\, and encouragement to return to Mass as families. A Poster was made from the Consecration to the Family Prayer Card\, and was displayed at each of the Schools and at the Church. \nThe Council had seven (7) Brother Knights\, who aided and supported the event. \nThe event was planned and organized by our Family Director – Brother Gary Tobin. May hours were put into this special event. \nMass attendance was very good\, a successful event.
